Bella Ciao Band play The Boite's World Music Cafe

Maybe, like me, you have been itching to get back to Italy.

To walk down a bustling city street, drink wine among the vineyards, or dance in a town square. Although it is unlikely we'll make it to Italy any time soon, there's a little piece of Italy to be experienced in Melbourne's North Fitzroy (and streamed online) on Saturday the 15th of May.

Melbourne's iconic world music organisation The Boite presents a night of classically Italian music by Bella Ciao Band. The trio of virtuosic jazz musicians Vincenzo Ruberto on bass, and Salvatore Greco & Enio Pozzebon on accordion, piano and vocals, bring together a wealth of musical experience and engage with various European styles and tunes. Be prepared to be carried on a musical journey, traversing genres from bouncing tarantellas to firey tangos, polkas, waltzes and jazz. Themes of love, tragedy, playfulness and hope weave through Bella Ciao Band's vast repertoire of timeless songs from the 40s, 50s and 60s Italy.

This intimate acoustic concert experience will be a real treat for the ears. Close your eyes and be transported to the Italian peninsula without even having to buy a plane ticket.
