Raffaele Caputo

Editor, researcher and freelance writer, Raffaele has also lectured in film studies at RMIT, Monash and La Trobe Universities. He has co-authored two books on Australian cinema, Second Take: Australian Film Makers Talk (Allen & Unwin, 1999) and Third Take: Australian Film-makers Talk (Allen & Unwin, 2002), and in 2006 was commissioned by the Symphony of Australia Foundation to author a short history of Australia titled Symphony of Australia: The Music, The Story (Sydney, 2007). From 1989 to 1998 he was assistant editor of Cinema Papers and associate editor of Metro Magazine. He is currently a co-editor of Screening the Past (www.screeningthepast.com), a peer-reviewed on-line journal which has been rated A* in two categories—Historical Studies and Film, Television and Digital Studies—by the Australian Research Council’s ERA ranking of international journals.
